I’m pretty sure we all have those childhood friends that we’ve known forever. You grew up with them, share a lot of the same memories and interests, and get along pretty well. They’ve just always been around. Until one day you notice, hey this person is pretty attractive. What then?
Can attraction grow from just being “childhood friends”?
Or it is just impossible to get that romantic spark once you’ve held a platonic relationship for so long?
What makes someone dating material or not?
It’s something that’s always been in the back of my head, but I’m not even sure of it. Perhaps I just appreciate having a guy’s company. Maybe it’s the fact that we’ve known each other for so long and have similar memories and values. Maybe it’s because I know that he’s a good guy. And good guys are hard to find.
I’m really not sure. For now, I’m just going to enjoy his company and let the pieces fall where they may.
Readers, what’s your opinion on childhood friends? Are they simply undateable?
