It’s Killing You

Yesterday at the hospital, a patient was being told that her medications were being revised. When she heard that certain medications would be discontinued, she was quite distraught. She wouldn’t listen to the nurse telling her that her hospitalization was a result of being over medicated on these drugs. Whatever these pills were were dangerous, and were causing negative side effects to her body.

I understand the situation from both points of view. The nurse is just trying to do her job. The patient is scared and doesn’t want to change from her daily routine. We all have our own worries, fears, and challenges.

How often do we stay with things even though they are killing us? It could be emotionally, spiritually, physically… What is holding you back from cutting these things out of your life?
