“My mom is the best mom in the whole world. Thank you for supporting me and loving me through everything.”
I read about ten of those in my news feed in the past couple minutes.
I don’t know about you guys, but I didn’t post any sappy Mother’s Day sentiments on Facebook today.
It’s not because I don’t have one. I do. I just wouldn’t call us two peas in a pod.
My mom has this awesome habit of cutting me off whenever I’m speaking, and ultimately making me feel like I don’t matter.
She doesn’t mean it. She doesn’t even notice how it hurts me.
But it does.
I have to console myself with the fact that she doesn’t do it on purpose. I love her, I do. And I know that she loves me too. She just has a weird way of showing it.
Either way, we all went to mass this morning and then hung out at my grandma’s house so we celebrated in our own little way. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. And if you aren’t super close to your mom, don’t feel alone. We’re in the same boat.
